of Mount Tahan and me - the introduction.
the planning began as early in December 2015.
i was attending a wedding in Hutan Melintang when my sweet friend asked, "nak join tahan?"
me, "bila?"
her, "cuti Mac..."
me, without thinking much, "jom!"
when i returned to my hometown, i paid the deposit (it was some of my serious savings! :D)
then, i did not really do anything about it. i just waited for updates about it.
one month after the deposit payment, i fell into a conflict (am still in the middle of it).
and, the conflict did motivate me to hike Mount Tahan like a blazing fire.
i told myself to take step to resolve the conflict after i have reached Mount Tahan's peak.
then, February came. i returned to my hometown during CNY holidays.
i told father about the hiking. well... his respond was negative. he didn't say that he's not allowing me to go for it. but, he gave me a sentence that made my heart sank. :(
he said, "u're just informing me, right? u're not asking for permission..."
i went back to my working place with a heavy heart and brain.
i attended marriage course. well, i had planned to attend this course since i was in college.
in the course, one of the speakers reminded the ladies to differentiate between asking for permission and informing the husband. father's sentence haunted me.
the speaker said, i take the meaning of his words this way, to make things easier when i do something he doesn't permit me to do so, ask for his blessings. redha. thus, i immediately texted father,
"ayah redha tak *** nk g hike Gunung Tahan march ni?"
he replied, "ok"
wohoooo!
it was 14th February when my sweet friend confirmed her cancellation for the hike. i didn't feel sad. it's okay, :) her spirit was with me. bahahaha!
16th February. went for a walk with my neighbour in the morning. the first training for myself to prepare for the hike.
then, 26th February, i went to Mount Pulai in Kulai. nevertheless, it was frustrating. u know it. i updated about that on that day. :(
i bought a Deuter hiking bag. i bought an E&S sleeping bag. i bought a pair of rubber shoes. i bought a headlamp and a torchlight.
within this phase til i get on the bus to KL, i kept disturbing Shima and Zatie and the group members in the Whats-app group with my ridiculous questions about hiking-camping.
4th March morning, i began serious training. load training? i carried a bag pack. i put a container of Maruku, a bottle of water, my sling bag filled with powerbank, purse and handphone and a container of breads. i walked with the bag for two rounds. big rounds at Bukit Layang-Layang's jogging track.
in the evening, on the same day, i repeated the training. i don't know if my training is the correct training i shud have done. hahaha!
i repeated the training on Saturday's morning and Sunday's morning.
the plan was 12th March should be the first day of the hike. nevertheless, something came up and the date was changed to 11th March.
and as for me, i was called by the boss on Sunday. (related to the post entitled "say what you wanna say") the boss's proud and intolerable attitude made the blazing fire of motivation in me ignited some fireworks and the fire became bigger. as the fire grew, the dislike feeling of me towards him nurtured simultaneously. sorry not sorry mister.
10th March, i made myself ready for the journey to KL at my work place. the bus departed from the terminal at 8.30 p.m.
11th March, i arrived TBS at around 2.00 a.m. Zatie, Daus and Aien were waiting for me there. their wait touched my heart. i'm a stranger from nowhere and they'd waited for me patiently. :')
i continued my journey to Sg. Relau with them.
we arrived Sg. Relau at 5.00 a.m something. we looked for a mosque for Fajr prayer.
after Fajr prayer, we had a conversation for a while. i was just listening to their conversation. i was in ice breaking state.
went to Sg. Relau place again. they were trying to reach the guide by calling him. the guide didn't answer the call. so, Zatie, Daus and Aien took a nap while waiting for the guide while others from other cars had a conversation outside. me? i joined my carpooling members taking a nap. i didn't feel like introducing myself, yet.
we had breakfast together. breakfast time! o yeah. two surprises, there were a team from Johor (they were so obvious wearing JDT shirts), and i saw someone i know his name (and i decided to acknowledge him, if he doesn't acknowledge me when i acknowledge him, i would ignore him like i never know him). that would be the first surprise.
the second one, OMG. i thought i could neutralise my brain and my soul by joining this hiking... it seemed that i couldn't! there's a person who resembles someone so much. my heart cried hard inside. i was restless. the real ice breaking session began. Shima. Wanie.
after breakfast, we went to Jabatan Perhilitan (i forgot the fullname). we needed to declare our things.
things to be declared:
1. plastics we bring with us during the hiking. every plastic must be counted including all candy wrappers.
2. bottles
3. tins
4. socks
5. gloves
6. clothes
7. shoes
8. slippers
9. batteries
and i was thankful for this declaration cause it made me feel less embarrassed to repack my things. hahahaha!
i owe a BIG THANK YOU to Shima for lending me both hands packing up my things.
then, we snapped some photos with our big bags.
i was so not confident to hike with the bag by looking at the bag after it's filled with all the things i brought.
it was already noon when we arrived Kuala Juram by 4wd.

i know this will be long!!!! will continue later. jaa!
